Deck out your door decor with these easy wreath ideas.

When you think of decorating for the holidays, chances are door decor comes to mind. Decorative wreaths and garlands make for easy, vibrant additions for a home. Traditionally, holiday wreaths comes with some sort of foilage (real or artificial), but for some, these typical wreaths just don’t fit their style.

DIY wreaths broaden the possibilities when it comes to decorating. From yarn wreaths to paper trees to beaded rings, there is no shortage of options. Check out these four ideas for your door decor this holiday season.

For the non-crafty types

Yarn wreaths are by far one of the easiest types of wreaths to make. Pick the yarn colors or patterns you love most and a foam ring, and just start wrapping. We used a mixed of chunky and medium yarn to make this Kwanzaa wreath, finished it off with cardstock cut out we made on our Cricut machine. With a little patience and hot glue gun, this colorful wreath became something we could keep up even after the holidays.

For this lush and vibrant tree, all you need is a bit of colored cardstock, some hot glue, and a Cricut machine. Succulents already make for low maintenance additions of beautiful decor, and paper succulents just means longer-lasting, care-free beauty. After the holiday, consider taking these paper succulents and rearrange them into pot or trays for year-round decoration.

Light the way

Lights, candles, and lanterns are a huge part of all the major holidays this season. Our eyes just completely lit up when we made this colorful paper garland project, which you can find in Cricut Design Space. It couldn’t have been easier to make. All we did was cut it on our Cricut machine, folded along the lines, and glued the paper onto some twine. Just make sure you hang these garlands from the right spot on your door — you don’t want them to fall off every time you open it!

For the look that really pops

This 3D village wreath uses cardstock, balsa wood, and wood beads for a simple yet beautiful wintery scene. As a slightly more advanced project, there are multiple materials to consider and work with, but the paper village can also be easily adapted to work for a year-round look.
