College-ready Halloween decor — 4 ideas that make the grade

12 October 2021

Halloween is just around the corner, and those who celebrate are beginning to hang their decorations to create a spooktacular scene.

While fun, and sometimes scary, decorations are a total Halloween vibe, they can be a bit pricey and you don’t always find what you want. If you’re a college student, finding ways to celebrate while saving some coin and adding some “you” is always a great solution. These Cricut-made decorations are sure to score an “A” with roommates, friends, and trick-or-treaters alike, and are perfect for dorms, apartments, and other smaller or temporary spaces.

1. A wicked window of opportunity

Window decals are the easiest way to spread the Halloween spirit. Super easy to make with a myriad of monsters to display, Cricut Maker 3 allows you to cut any shape or color of removable vinyl. These decals will add some edge without breaking the bank, and the best part is, you can arrange (and rearrange) them however you want. Create a whole Halloween scene if you’re up to it!

2. Scary sticks for the sweet treats

Halloween decor makes the holiday fun, but decorations for your food make it even better! With Cricut, cut any small skull, ghost, jack-o-lantern, and more and attach the garnish to a short skewer for a perfect seasonal treat. This is also a great project for any paper scrap materials you have laying around. “Deadly” cupcakes like these make for a sweet surprise to any Hallow’s Eve celebration.

3. Sinister stickers for a small surprise

Cricut makes sticker making a breeze, and any apartment can benefit from these small accents. Removable stickers can be placed around the home to elevate your Halloween spirit. The best part — you can make extra to put on personal items or to give out to friends!

4. Candy bowls turned beastly bowls

These fun and easy decorations might be my favorite. Turning simple bowls into small creatures requires a just quick Cricut cut and lots of candy! Make your bowls skeletons and ghosts with black vinyl cutouts on a clear container filled with marshmallows, mints, or taffy! These decorations are easy to make, easy to place, and even easier to eat. And it’s hard not to love a spooky tray of sugar on display at Halloween.

These Cricut-made Halloween decorations are the perfect balance of spooky and fun. The possibilities are truly endless and allow for so much creativity. Since they’re small and removable, there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to your landlord or resident hall director either.
